Database Backup

A copy of your books, off this machine: timestamped backups into your own Google Drive. Open it from Admin Console → Database Backup.

The connection states, Backup Now, and what disconnecting does and does not do.

What you can do here​

  • Connect Google Drive — walks through Google's own sign-in and lands back here; each business connects its own account.
  • Backup Now — writes a timestamped copy of the database to your Drive; the card shows the last backup and its file name.
  • Disconnect any time — existing backups in your Drive are never deleted by disconnecting.
The card reads your state plainly — connected, not connected, or not configured on the server.

Good to know​

  • All backup actions need the settings edit permission; others see the status read-only.
  • If the server itself has no Drive credentials configured, the card says exactly that — an administrator sets them in the deployment's environment.
