Stock Audit

The physical count against what the system believes: prepare a worksheet, count the shelves, and apply the corrections. Open it from Inventory → Stock Audit.

Open the count, record a discrepancy, save — and why Adjust Stock is a one-way step.

What you can do here

  • Start or resume a count — Start New Audit prepares every item with purchases and sales since the last audit; a pending monthly worksheet opens with Review & Count. Physical counts pre-fill with the expected quantity — type only where the shelf disagrees.
  • Watch the tally live — matched, shortages (with their value), and excesses update as you type; a filter narrows to discrepancies only.
  • Apply the corrections — from a closed audit's detail, Adjust Stock sets system stock to the physical counts, writing an audited adjustment per item.
  • Stay on schedule — a banner (and the notification bell) flag when the last audit is more than a week old.
One card per audit — Pending count until the shelves are counted, Closed after.

Good to know

  • Adjust Stock is one-way — the stock writes are real adjustments; deleting the audit afterward does not unwind them.
  • A closed audit can't be re-opened — only viewed or deleted.
  • One audit per month per scope: a pending worksheet must be counted, not replaced.
