Day Book

The daily collections and expenses summary: one entry per day that pulls the whole day in — sales, advances, expenses, and the cash counter — and, once reviewed, is registered as a locked record. Open it from Day Books → Day Book.

A day close end to end: Get Details, the cash counter math, the shareable summary card — and why Register is one-way.

What you can do here

  • Create the day's entry — New Entry, pick the date and store, then Get Details pulls in collections, expenses, bookings, and the carried-forward counter opening balance.
  • Reconcile the cash counter — record cash deposited to bank, handovers, and returns; the closing balance computes itself: opening + cash in − cash out − deposits − handover − returns.
  • Drill into anything — collapsible sections list every sale order, invoice, installation, and expense of the day, each opening a quick view.
  • Share the summary — every entry carries a summary card sized for sharing: copy as image straight into WhatsApp, or download the PNG.
  • Review & Register — locks the entry permanently once the day is settled.
One row per day — locked entries keep View and Summary but lose Edit and Delete.

Good to know

  • Registering is one-way. A registered entry cannot be edited or deleted — the exact server answer is "This entry has been reviewed & registered and cannot be edited" — and its summary card is a frozen snapshot, never recomputed.
  • Until registered, an entry can be edited or deleted freely (with the day-book permissions).
  • This is the business-wide daily close; the POS Day Book is the counter's own shift-consolidation record — they are different screens.
