Customers & suppliers

Everyone you trade with — the customers you sell to and the suppliers you buy from — with a ledger for each.

In the app: the Contacts menu.

A 22-second tour: search, the type filter, export, and a contact's ledger.

What you can do here

  • Find a contact — the search box matches name, phone, GST number, and address as you type; no Enter needed.
  • Filter by type — the All Types dropdown narrows to Customer or Supplier; it combines with search.
  • Export the list — the export button downloads the current view with the same search and filter applied.
  • Open a ledger — the Ledger button on any row shows every transaction with that contact and the running balance.
  • Add, edit, delete — Add New Contact at the top right; Edit and Delete in each row's menu. See Add and edit contacts.

Each row shows the name with phone beneath, the address, the GST number, and a type badge — green Customer or purple Supplier. The form sets the type from the GST number: see how the type is set.

The Contact Management screen: search, the type filter, export, and refresh above the table.

Good to know

  • Buttons follow your role: add, edit, and delete each need the matching permission on Contacts, and Ledger needs view permission on Receipts & Payments.
  • Changing the search or filter returns you to page 1; deleting the last contact on the last page steps you back a page.

Troubleshooting

A contact you know exists is not in the list

Set the type filter back to All Types and clear the search. A contact you think of as a customer appears under Supplier when a GST number is saved on it.

  • Add and edit contacts — the form, GST validation, opening balances, and deleting
  • Items — the catalog you buy from suppliers and sell to customers
